Whit's First Haircut!!!

Yesterday, Scott and I decided that it was finally time to take Whit to get his first haircut because his hair was getting to the unruly stage. It had gotten so long that it was completely covering his ears if we didn't tuck it behind his ears. We went to "Snip Its," this really cute, kids-only hair cut place, and Whit was an angel the entire time. At the end of the haircut, the kids get to go up to the special haircut machine, put a lock of hair into a slot, and out comes a special surprise! Whit got a ruler, so it wasn't exactly an exciting treat, but that's okay. There were all sorts of fun things for kids to do there, like play with puzzles, sit in the Thomas the Tank little engine, watch children's shows on these really cool TVs, and read all sorts of fun books. The haircut was $18 plus tip, which really shocked us, especially since it took the lady less than 5 minutes to complete the cut. Oh, well. It was fun to take him there for the first haircut, but we will probably go somewhere else next time. He even got a "First Haircut" certificate with his name and the date on it, and they stapled a little bag with some of his hair as a keepsake that I put in Whit's baby book. It was definitely a fun "first!"
