QT with the Fam!

This weekend, I was able to soak up a lot of quality time with Scott, Whit, and Tilly, and it was so wonderful. We have been incredibly busy lately, so it was lovely to just be able to relax on Sunday afternoon and evening and enjoy each other's company. Scott is so busy during the week with his 10 hours of tutoring, his afternoon help session once a week, and being the co-sponsor of the Academic Bowl team, (yes, that is as nerdy as it sounds! just kidding!), and Whit and I don't get to see him nearly as much as we would like, so weekend time is sacred! Luckily, Scott intentionally made sure that his schedule allows him to see Whit every day after work for at least a couple of hours. Unfortunately, that means he often goes out to tutor after Whit goes to sleep, so I end up seeing him less, but you gotta go what you gotta do, right? :)

On Saturday night, Scott, Sara, and I went to Dorian and Michael's reception, and I had such a wonderful time seeing two of my favorite girls and reminiscing about the past 10 or so years of our friendship! Dorian and Michael were actually supposed to get married this coming January, but at the last minute, they decided to elope! They were married on May 17th in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Because they didn't have a regular wedding, Michael's parents decided to throw him and Dorian a super casual reception at their home, and it was great! Being with Dorian and Sara reminded me of the power and importance of female friendships. God has blessed me with the most amazing circle of friends, and Dorian and Sara are two of the best friends I have ever had. We have been close since I was 17, and they have definitely been there for me in good times and bad! I hate that I don't get to see them and some of my other dear friends more often, but when I am lucky enough to see them, it is like no time has passed at all. I have found over the years that the old cliche, "real friends are rare to find" is so true. In light of that, I dedicate this post to my nearest and dearest pals! Thank you for being there for me always, no matter what. I love each of you with all my heart!
